She was predeceased by: her parents, Orvin Gotfried and Bertha Gotfried (Behrend); her in-laws, Kieth and Ruth Thornton; and her brother-in-law James Thornton.

She is survived by: her husband Arthur Thornton; her children, Keith Thornton (Cindy), Karyn Thornton (Jerry Norby), Donna Loeffler (Dan) and Diane Derrick (Michael); her grandchildren, Samantha and Noah Derrick; her children, Bobby, James Loeffler, Morgan and Liesel Norby; her sister-in-law Marcia Thornton; and her close friend Karen Baker. She is also survived by many cousins and dear friends.
