She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Shortreed and Katherine Shortreed (Schmitt); and her brothers, Thomas Shortreed, Donald Shortreed, James Shortreed, Philip Shortreed and James Hoppe.

She is survived by: her husband James Hoppe; her son David Hoppe (Jennifer); her granddaughters, Samantha and Molly Hoppe; and her siblings, Mary Ellen Smith (Michael), Sandra Gunderson (David), Carol Krez (Fred), Leona Shortreed, Gary Shortreed (Lorna), Duane Shortreed (Judy), Kenneth Shortreed (Mary Pauline), Douglas Shortreed (Bonnie) and Robert Shortreed (Joni).
