He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Susan Vojtek (Sopko) and Stephen Vojtek; his parents-in-law, Onno and Viola Ziemann; and his brother-in-law John Kaucich.
He is survived by: his wife Judy; his children, Stephen (Diane), Michael (Denice) and Mary Messner (Randy); his grandchildren, Theresa Duffy (Dan), Kathyrn Isic (Mirza), Jacob Messner, Sara Watson (Jason), Nathan Voitek (Emma Gross) and Amber Pleshek (Nathaniel); his great grandchildren, Stephen Duffy, Lejla, Ajla Isic and Joanna Voitek; his brothers-in-law, Geoffrey and Richard Ziemann; and his foster sister Julia Kaucich.
