He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Hoogstra and Helen Hoogstra (Clever); his wife Anita Smith; his children, Bob Hoogstra (Kathy) of North Muskegon, MI, Elaine Kappers (Wendell) of Oostburg and Ken Hoogstra (Lori) of Brown Deer; his grandchildren, Jon (Wendy), Dave (Jenna), Chris Hoogstra (Lizzie), Josh (Jessie), Taylor Kappers (Codie Keller), Allison Otte (Brady), Alex Kappers, Leah Hoogstra (Joseph McGuire) and Kristen Gustafson (Connor); his great grandchildren, James Hoogstra, Evelyn, Luke, Joanna, Sophie Hoogstra, Joshua Kappers, Bradlie Mae, Ellis and Lennon Gustafson; his sister Elaine Freitag; his brother-in-law Al Smith (Jeannette); his brothers, William Hoogstra (Gertrude) and John Hoogstra (Jean); and his brother-in-law Wayne Freitag. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
