She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Claerbout and Alice Claerbout (DeSmidt); and her husband Curtiss. She is survived by: her children, Dave Nyenhuis (Barbara) of Oostburg, Paul Nyenhuis (Sue) of Saint Charles, IL, Jill Ludens (Don) of Oostburg, Nancy Rohde (Bob) of Oostburg and Tim Nyenhuis (Mary Jo) of Weston, WI; her grandchildren, Megan Willard (Paul), Adam Nyenhuis (Mary), Gabe Nyenhuis, Dani Phillips (Justin), Nicholas Ludens (Nicole), Hope Vander Ploeg (Michael) and Ryan Nyenhuis (Taylor); her great grandchildren, Maya Willard, Caleb Willard, Jackson Willard, Claire Willard, Samuel Willard, Bennett Willard, Ruth Nyenhuis, Thomas Nyenhuis, Logan Phillips, Colton Phillips, Sadie Phillips, Madelyn Ludens, Eloise Ludens, Mason Vander Ploeg and Croix Nyenhuis; her siblings-in-law, Nancy Claerbout, Richard Soerens (Janna) and John Dees; her siblings, Mary Soerens (Richard), Irene Klug (Howard), Hazel Vande Wall (Phil), Beverly Dees (John), Bill Claerbout (Nancy) and Oscar Stanley Claerbout; her nephews, Jim Mills and Greg Richardson; and her niece Kim Dees. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated in Betty's name to Bethel Orthodox Presbyterian Church and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
