He was predeceased by: his parents, James Barton and Elizabeth Miller Barton Chapman; his siblings, Amy Willis (Gard), James Jr. Barton (Macel) and Gene Barton; his parents-in-law, Frances and Charles Cornelius; his siblings-in-law, Harriet Jorgensen (Norbert Sr.), Harold Cornelius, Harrison Cornelius (Louise), Merlin Cornelius (Janice), Evangeline VanStippen, Roberta Anderson (Rueben), Irene Lenhart (Leroy), Charlene Cornelius, Wayne Cornelius and Ronald Cornelius (Rosalea); and his grandson Jason Peters.

He is survived by: his wife Julie Cornelius Barton; his brothers, Walter Barton (Gilda) and Harry Chapman (Lois Ann); his sister-in-law Cleo Cornelius; his children, Robert C. Barton (Kerry), Nancy Barton, Larry Barton (Jane), Lori Webster (Mel) and Kendall Barton (Sue); and his grandson John VanStippen (Mary). He is also survived by his 18 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. And many close friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 29th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home (358 S Main St, Seymour, WI 54165). A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 29th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
