He was predeceased by: his parents, Mark Powless Sr. and Margaret Stevens; his daughter Kim; and his siblings, John, Purcell, Lorraine, Dorothy, Mary, Herb and Eugene.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley King; his son Christopher Powless (Jane); his grandchildren, Jerrel, Isaiah, Amber and Caitlin; and his sister Marge Stevens. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
