She was predeceased by: her husband Ken Abnet; her parents, Clifford Curtis and Myrtle Curtis; and her siblings, Sally Schober, David, Lynn, Lee Brian, Leslie Curtis, George (Marcela Abnet), Joe (Arlene Ready) and Howard (Marion Kappauf).
She is survived by: her children, Rebecca Grapes (Thomas) of La Crosse and Paul Abnet (Amy) of Dakota; her grandchildren, Amy Wells (Roman) of Holmen, Brynn Panek of Fond du, Elise and Jessalyn Abnet of Winona; her great grandchildren, William, Presleigh Panek, Jaxsyn, Torynn and Briela Wells; her siblings, Peggy Opland (Russell) of Onalaska and Peter Curtis (Cindy) of Holmen; and her brothers-in-law, Doug Schober Sr. of La Crosse and Jerry Abnet of La Crescent. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral and Cremation Services (200 West Ave S, La Crosse, WI 54601). A memorial service was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Catholic Cemetery (519 Losey Blvd S, La Crosse, WI 54601).
