He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Staton and Zeneta Staton (Sauer); his son Robert Leland Staton; and his brothers, Frank, Junior and Billy Staton.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Thompson of Onalaska, WI; his daughter-in-law Theresa Staton; his son Scott Staton (Doreen) of Onalaska, WI; his grandchildren, Crystal Douthart (Ben), Kayla, Tabitha and Taylor Staton; his great grandchildren, Gracie Ann, Khalesi and Halley Douthart; and his siblings, Cloey Nickerson of Winthrop, IA, David Staton of Marion, IA, Cleta Martin of Michigan, Gail Coleson of Ely, IA, Gary Staton of Cedar Rapids, IA, Keith Staton of Woodward, IA, Le Roy Staton of Dunkerton, IA, Zeta Nieman of Manchester, IA, Don Staton of Cedar Rapids, IA and Terry Staton of Oelwein, IA.. He is also survived by his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the St. Jude's Children Research Hospital.
