He was predeceased by: his parents, J. Melford Peterson and Elizabeth Peterson (Kenyon); and his siblings, Melvin, Robert and Judy Mayer.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Severson; his daughters, Mary Hakansson (Rune) of Onalaska and Jane Stack (David) of Mound, MN.; his granddaughters, Sarah Kernan (Jake) of Sparta and Emma Clifford (Josh Slostad) of Roseville, MN.; and his great grandchild Calvin Swaney of Sparta.
