He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Schams and Marie Schams (Morris); and his wife Kathy Schams. He is survived by: his children, Kim Schams and Mike Schams (Sue); his grandchildren, Kylee and Drake Schams; his sister Sharon Nelson (Ray); his nephews, Stuart and Steve Nelson; and his niece Kristine Brueggen (Mark).
