He was predeceased by: his former wife Florence M. Sundquist; his wife Florence "Flossie" Scott; his siblings, Edith Holverson, Melvin Carpenter, Dorothy Schmidt, Irene Haedt, Eva Mae Coats, Arthur Carpenter, Neta Faye Spanbauer, George Carpenter and Shirley Carpenter; and his stepson Ken Scott.
He is survived by: his sons, Mark Carpenter (Jeanette) of Pine River, Steven Carpenter (Christine) of Omro, Kurt Carpenter (Maureen) of Columbia, Kentucky and David Carpenter of Oshkosh; his stepchildren, John Scott (Dorothy) of New London, Joe Scott of Ashwaubenon, Linda Sarnowski (John) of Neenah and Sandy Nelson (Gary) of Winneconne; and his sister-in-law Donna Rae. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
