He was predeceased by: his father Dr. Robert Ira Challoner. He is survived by: his mother Sandra Challoner (Nixon); his sister Laurel Challoner; his niece Sophia; his brother Scott Challoner (Carolyn); his nephews, Matthew and Reed; and also Craig. He is also survived by relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made towards scholarships for students in nursing and conservation-related programs, in honor of Craig's devotion to these fields.
