It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Katherine Smugala of Ogema, Wisconsin, who passed away on December 7, 2022, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Budaj and Katherine Budaj (Mindock). She is survived by: her husband Michael Smugala (Mickey); her children, Michelle Kurth (John), Michael, Scott (Rosie), Krissy Custer (Travis), Clarissa Schmitt (Joe) and Rachel Pocock (John); her grandchildren, Alex Kurth (Megan), Nicole Johnson (Tyler), Tanner, Ashley Leu (Jeremy), Katie Newstrom (Wyatt), Jacob, Roman, Savannah Schmitt and Zachary Wacholtz; and her siblings, Frank Budaj, Susan Budaj, Betty Bauer (Duane), John Budaj (Edie), Rosemary Korb, Patty Nutt (Doug) and Tony Budaj (Kathie). She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.
