He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ignatz Thiel and Dora Thiel; his wife Lillian; his children, Bill (Susan) and Jill; and his grandchildren, Joseph, Sarah and Andrew. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made in William's name to the Salvation Army, the Lake Country Free Clinic, or Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Oconomowoc.
