The passing of Michael Dennis Strachota (Oconomowoc, Wisconsin) leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on January 19, 2025 at the age of 75. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Russell Strachota and Margaret Strachota; and his siblings, Mary Kay Gasman (Dewayne), Dan Strachota, Tim Strachota (Debbie), Jane Menebroeker (David), Kevin Strachota and Tom Strachota (Nikki).

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM and on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM. A prayer will be held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church (W359N8512 Brown St, Oconomowoc, WI 53066). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church (120 Nashotah Rd, Nashotah, WI 53058). A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Restlawn Memorial Park (235962 N Troy St, Wausau, WI 54403).

In lieu of flowers memorials to either St. Joan of Arc or St. Catherine of Alexandria Church are deeply appreciated.

“Father Mike was filled with the Holy Spirit. His homilies were pure gift for those who heard them. His pastoral presence was highly valued by those he ministered to. We treasured Mike’s progressive Catholicism and his inclusive manner of interacting with people. He made us all feel welcomed. I would probably have given up on my spirituality during the pandemic if not for Mike’s (and Larry’s and Charlie’s) virtual masses. They were inspirational! Rest in peace now, dear Father Mike.
