Marion A. Dzomba Obituary
Marion Dzomba, age 95, of Oconomowoc, passed away peacefully Monday, January 8, 2024 at ProHealth Care in Oconomowoc following a brief illness.
Marion Anita Neuman was born October 16, 1928 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Emil and Anna (Majewske) Neuman. She was baptized on November 11, 1928 by Pastor Joh. Brenner at St. Johanne's Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. She was confirmed by Rev. Theodore Kissling at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Oconomowoc. She graduated from Oconomowoc High School in 1946.
On September 12, 1953, she married Roger Dzomba at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Oconomowoc. They were married for 50 years.
Marion was employed in the office at Oconomowoc Can Company and later at Oconomowoc City Utilities until her retirement in 1991. She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Ixonia since 1976.
Marion is survived by her children Sally Schliewe and David (Lisa) Dzomba; grandchildren: Nicole (David) Steffens, Christopher (Laura) Dzomba, Jeffrey Schliewe and Lynette Schliewe; step-granddaughters Wendy (Michael) Newton and Katy (Timothy) Elertson; great-grandchildren: Cayden, Marshall, Elliot, Izabella, Benjamin and Skylar; step-great grandchildren: Brianna (Mason) Tharp, Clara, Faith, Morgan, Clayton and Tessa; brother Ronald Neuman, sister-in-law Shirley Trottman; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Marion is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Roger, son-in-law Wayne Schliewe, sisters Evelyn Maasz and Dorothy Guenterberg, brother Norbert Neuman; as well as brothers and sisters-in-law.
Family and friends may gather at Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home 121 S. Cross St. Oconomowoc on Tuesday, January 16, 2023 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2023 at St John's Lutheran Church, W1204 Rockvale Road, Ixonia, WI 53066, with Pastor Allen Tetzlaff presiding. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until time of service at 11am. Interment will follow at Glenview Memorial Cemetery, Ixonia.
Memorials, if desired, may be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church, Ixonia or St. Matthew's (Oconomowoc) Lutheran School or Church Forward 2024 Fund.
