Kathleen M. Vogt Obituary
Kathleen "Kathy" Marie Vogt, age 77, of Oconomowoc, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2023, at AngelsGrace Hospice after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
She was born October 24, 1945, in Oconomowoc to Roy (Mike) and Vlasta (nee Ceithamer) Strey. Kathy married the love of her life, Gustav Vogt III, in Oconomowoc on June 28, 1969. Kathy worked at Oconomowoc High School in the office for many years. Once she retired, she kept herself active by joining the LaBelle Cemetery Board, driving for the Silver Streak, volunteering at the Senior Center and at her church, Dr. Martin Luther. Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She made it a priority to attend recitals, games, graduations, birthday parties (any holiday party), truck pulls/races, annual pumpkin picking, family dinners, Up North vacations, and any chance she could to babysit her great nephews and great nieces. "Lady" as she was so lovingly called, was one of a kind, an angel here on earth and will be greatly missed by those blessed with knowing her.
Kathy is survived by her brother Jim Strey; brother-in-law Herbie Mallow; sister Donna Standell and brother-in-law Joseph Standell; brother Bob Strey; brother Tom (Tomar) Strey and sister-in-law Kathy Strey. She was the special aunt of Brandon Strey, Shauna (Ted) Wisniewski, Gavin (Megan) Strey, Kelsey (Shilo) Durnil, and Trenton (Emily) Strey. Kathy is also survived by her great nieces and great nephews that brought her so much joy: Audrey, Story, Blake, Eva, Lachlan, Magnolia, Drake, and Theo. She is further survived by many other loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, great great nephews, chosen family and cherished friends.
Kathy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years Gustav Vogt III; her parents, Roy and Vlasta Strey; her sisters Karen Mallow and JoAnn Schultz; her sisters-in-law Kathie Strey and Mary Pankow, and her nephew Evan Strey.
The family sends their most sincere gratitude to the nurses, CNAs, social workers, chaplains, volunteers and staff at ProHealth Hospice Care and AngelsGrace Hospice for their loving care, kindness, and concern during Kathy's final days.
Family and friends may visit Dr. Martin Luther Church, 325 S. Main St., Oconomowoc on Saturday, October 7, 2023, from 10 am until time of service at Noon. Final rest will be at LaBelle Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Dr. Martin Luther Church or AngelsGrace Hospice are appreciated.
