Jennifer M. Laabs Obituary

Jennifer M. (nee Lichtwalt) Laabs passed away suddenly on November 14, 2023, and went to be with the Lord. She was born on June 3, 1950, and grew up in Lake Zurich, IL. Jennifer was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Johanna (nee Eildjoerg) Lichtwalt.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Charles A. Laabs. Jennifer and Charles had two daughters, Karissa (Scott) Paar of Oconomowoc and Kimberley (Andrew) Uitz of Oconomowoc. Proud grandmother of Makenna, Mason, Meredith, Noah, and Abigail. She is further survived by her sister, Claudia Bumblis, and other relatives and friends.

Jennifer was a beloved teacher at Greenland Elementary School in Oconomowoc for 25 years. She was a devoted member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Oconomowoc. Jennifer enjoyed the holidays and spending time with family. She loved being with her friends at various luncheons, book clubs, and activities.

A celebration of life will be held at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, with visitation at 9:00 am, and service to follow at 11:00 am. The interment will be at La Belle Cemetery following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oconomowoc.
