Ione L. Hoene Obituary
Ione L. Hoene passed from this earth March 27, 2025, at Memorial Hospital Oconomowoc due to complications from her battle with cancer. Ione was born July 2, 1929, in Milwaukee Wisconsin to William and Pauline Anderson.
On June 30, 1951, she was united in marriage to Mearl Hoene at Sherman Park Lutheran Church, Milwaukee Wisconsin. They were married over 52 years until his passing in 2004. Together, they were blessed with 2 sons, Mark and Kurt. Her boys were the love of her life! She was a member of Dr. Martin Luther Church, Oconomowoc for many years. She was also a member of VFW Post 2260 Auxiliary in Oconomowoc.
Ione loved and excelled in stitchery and won several awards for her work. She also loved crocheting and knitting making numerous blankets, hats, and dish cloths, which she gave to friends, relatives and donated countless others to various charities and organizations.
Schwefel's Restaurant was her favorite eating establishment and she always ordered the 'Whitehouse'. Special along with a Wisconsin Old Fashion cocktail whenever she was enjoying a nice meal out.
Ione is survived by her 2 dear sons Mark (Laura) Hoene and Kurt Hoene, grandsons Keith, Robert (Brenda) Hoene, stepson Michael Kehoe and stepdaughter Jill Marie Kehoe along with many longtime friends and neighbors.
Visitation will be Wednesday April 9, 2025, from 10:00 A.M to 12:00 noon at Schmidt Bartelt Funeral Home 121 S. Cross St. Oconomowoc. A memorial service and committal service will follow at Glenview Memorial Gardens Chapel, Ixonia, WI.
The family would like to sincerely thank Chuck Saeger from Dr. Martin Luther Church for his many visits to Ione at her home and providing her wonderful spiritual care and fellowship when she was unable to attend church.
Memorials can be donated in Ione's name to the charity or organization of one's choice.
