Dale R. Reimer Obituary
Born November 19, 1942 in Brookfield, WI to Delbert and Bernice Reimer. They moved to Hartland, WI at an early age and Dale went to Hartland grade school and then to Arrowhead High School. Dale worked at Stark Candy Co. in Pewaukee and then Merton Auto Body in Merton until retiring in 2007 after 45 years.
Dale was an avid duck hunter for many years at Rush Lake, WI. He started gun deer hunting at 12 years old and then he began to shot bow in leagues in both Hartland and Sussex. He went bow and gun deer hunting in Black River Falls and Golden Lake which he really enjoyed for over 50 years. Dale was a trap boy and started trapshooting at Hartland Sportsmen's Club, Valley Gun Club, Hartford Conservation Club and Waukesha Gun Club. He also shot skeet at Waukesha Gun Club and sporting clays at Wern Valley Gun Club. He joined the Amateur Trapshooting Association in 1969 and started an amazing registered shooting career. Dale was the Wisconsin State Shoot 16yd. singles champion 3 times and doubles champion 5 times. In 1988 he was rated #1 in Wisconsin and 9th in the country as High 16yd. singles shooter with an average of 99.33% for 3000 targets. From 1970 through 2019 he shot 117 100 straights in 16yd. singles and 9 200 straights in 16yd. singles. Dale also shot 12 100 straights in doubles targets. From 1969 until 2019 he shot 54, 250 16yd. singles, 35, 100 handicap yardage, and 22, 700 doubles targets for a total of 112, 050 registered targets. Dale shot in Class AAA in 16yd. singles, 27 yds. in handicap, and AA doubles. Dale won many, many shoots over the years and was inducted in the Wisconsin Trapshooters Association Hall of Fame in July 2000. Dale never bragged about his shooting; his scores told the story. Like he said, he liked to fly under the radar. Dale's wife, Linda, also shot trap and they enjoyed shooting together for many years.
Dale is survived by his wife Linda, son Graig Reimer of Dousman, brothers, Bud Reimer of Oconomowoc, Tom Reimer of Hartland, further survived by nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Delbert and Bernice Reimer and his sister Cheri Reimer.
