Carol J. Hofmann Obituary
Carol Joanne Hofmann (nee Ebert), age 93, entered eternal life, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, February 26, 2024.
She is survived by her twin brother, John P Ebert (Elaine) of Ohio; Brother-in-law, Thomas W. Hofmann; daughters Dianne Buchholtz (Mark), and Dawn Kreklow (Thomas); Grandchildren, Stephanie Baginski (Scott), Chad Buchholtz, Andrew Kreklow, Kayla Owens (Matt); Great Granddaughters, Julia and Sophia Baginski.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Gerald L Hofmann; Brother-in-law Kenneth Ehlenbach, Sister, Grace Ehlenbach, and Son in law, Thomas W. Kreklow.
Carol loved being a homemaker and was an outstanding cook, baker, and seamstress. She truly had the gift of hospitality, always making everyone feel so loved and welcomed. Her home was a haven, and her signature Schaum Torte was THE BOMB, along with her delicious coffee cakes that she always had made ready to give or welcome a neighbor in her home for coffee. Her homemade bread was a masterpiece and favored by all.
Carol was very musically gifted. She played the cello in her high school orchestra. She taught herself piano and could play almost anything by ear. She studied voice and used that beautiful voice praising the Lord in church choirs and at weddings.
Carol's greatest legacy was that she lived her faith in Jesus Christ, leading her daughters to The Lord, and faithfully serving HIM throughout her life. She deeply loved her family and continually prayed for them and so many others, and drew strength from God's Word, and His promises.
A Memorial service will be held at the Shorehaven Health Center Chapel 1305 W. Wisconsin Ave. in Oconomowoc on Saturday March 9, 2024 Visitation 9:30-10:00, with a service following from 10-11:00 a.m.
A special thank you to all who gave Carol their love and support, and great care over these many years at Shorehaven- especially those that walked alongside her in the last difficult days; Vicki, Jennifer, Paige, Rebecca and Jake.
Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home Oconomowoc is serving the family.
A private family burial was held at LaBelle Cemetery, March 1, 2024.
