She was predeceased by: her daughter Laura Higgins; her parents, Charles Houk and Florence Houk; her sister Sharon Trupke; and her brothers-in-law, Digger Zielke and Tom Dowling.

She is survived by: her husband Richard T. Schroeder; and her siblings, Lester Houk (Anne), Joe Houk (Arlene), Donna Zielke, Vera Dowling and Pattie Muroco (Greg).
