Betty J. Morris Obituary
Betty J. (the late Charles) Morris, nee Nassimbene, age 84, passed away peacefully, with her family present on September 18th, 2024. Betty was born September 15, 1940 to Earnest and Rose Nassimbene.
She was a loving wife, a mother, a grandmother, and a great grandmother. She is survived by her beloved children, Greg Morris, Kendal Flynn, Brenda Woodward, Former Daughter-In-Law's, Sandy Morris and Wendy Mueller. She was devoted to her grandchildren, Jess Morris (Louis Jones), Heather (Marcos) Aguilar, Joe Morris, Laura Morris, Casey Flynn, Colby Flynn, Taylor Woodward, Connor Woodward and great grandchildren, Gabriella, Mia, Oliver, Stevie.
She is also survived by her brother Dr. Raymond Nassimbene , sister-in-law Marlyn Riter, sister-in-law Andrea Nassimbene and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles W. Morris, her parents Rose Prentiss and Earnest Nassimbene, her sister in law Betty Jo Nassimbene, brother-in-law John Riter, brother Earnest Nassimbene, her granddaughter Kimberly Morris and son-in-law David Woodward.
She attended Colorado University and was a talented entertainer. She loved to bring joy to people with her ventriloquism acts which included her beloved dolls, George and Gloria. One of her proud memories was being crowned Miss Broomfield in a Colorado beauty pageant.
She and her husband were high school sweethearts and were married for 58 years. They eventually moved to North Lake where Betty became the first female commodore of North Lake Yacht Club and started the First Sailing School. She spent hours on the dock fishing and enjoyed golf, bowling and playing slot machines.
Betty was an incredibly talented and creative Inventor, Manufacturer, Entrepreneur, and Retailer. In 1973 she used these gifts to create a successful business with her partner Katy Bloomberg called K & B Innovations which launched, Shrinky Dinks. Shrinky Dinks was an "adult craft initiative" that brought happiness and amazement to many children and adults for over 40 years. In 2018 Shrinky Dinks was inducted into the Toy Hall of Fame.
Her family, friends and all the people who cared for her will always remember her as having a unique enthusiasm for people and life. She radiated kindness and was an incredibly caring and generous loving soul.
One of her greatest sources of joy came from bringing her family together. She was a devoted wife and Mother.
Visitation will be held from 11:30 AM until the time of Funeral Service at 1:30 PM at Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home, 121 S Cross St, Oconomowoc. Burial to follow at the Gardens of Stone Bank in Stone Bank.
