He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Brinkman and Delores Brinkman; his stepfather Arthur Dale Stubbs; and his brother Greg. He is survived by: his wife Debra; his children, Benjamin, Emily and Megan; his stepchildren, Kenneth Veriga (Emily), Joseph Veriga (Mae), Kimberly Schamer (Justin) and Marisa Feliciano (Israel); his sisters, Judy (Roger), Betty, Nancy and Kay (John); and his grandchildren, Kaylie, Landen, Beau, Leon, Jack, Sloane, Harper and Elizabeth. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
