He is survived by: his wife Pat Berendes of Butterfield Valley; his children, Chuck Berendes (Polly) of La Crosse, WI and Gabe Berendes (Anne) of La Crosse, WI; his grandchildren, Charlotte, Louie, Hank, Eddie and Benet; his siblings, Mike Berendes of Norwalk, WI and Sue Horsfall (Jack) of La Crosse, WI; his niece Kelly Fox (Jim); his nephew John Horsfall (Lori) of La Crosse, WI.; and his friends, Rose Peterson and Joe Kruse.
Memorials may be given in Dick's name to St. John's University, Roncalli Newman Center, Mary, Mother of the Church, Mayo Clinic Health System – Franciscan Healthcare, and/or WAFER food pantry.
