Karen R. Mielke Obituary
Of North Prairie, was called home by her Lord and Savior on August 6, 2024 at the age of 73. Karen was born on July 21, 1951 in Elkhorn, WI., daughter of the late LeRoy and Carol Amborn. She was baptized on August 12, 1951 and confirmed on May 23, 1965 at St. Paul's in East Troy. Her confirmation verse was Revelation 2:10 "Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.".
Karen and John were united in marriage on July 21, 1973 at St. Paul's. The Lord blessed them with 51 years of Christian marriage. Karen's greatest earthly joy was a blessing from God with the gift of her two daughters Tiffany Rae Nelly and Ashley Rae Maria' and her granddaughter Naomi Alexis.
Karen was a called teacher in WELS schools, organist in WELS churches, LWMS president for East Troy area, over the years involved in St. Paul's School, Sunday school, VBS, Jr Choir, and Lutheran Girl Pioneers. In retirement years, John and Karen were active in the Wednesday Bible Study Group and the 55 and Over Group at St. John's in Mukwonago.
Through all the joys and struggles of life this side of heaven, Karen found joy in the church and in the forgiveness of sins, freely given. Karen wrote: "My church is where I learned. His love and His story and found peace. This is where the Spirit's power filled me.".
Karen will be greatly missed by her husband John Mielke, a brother Pastor Keith (Bonnie) Amborn, a brother-in-law Thomas (Vickie) Mielke, and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents LeRoy and Carol (nee' Buckau) Amborn, daughter Ashley, and granddaughter Naomi.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2024 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church (410 W. Veteran's Way, Mukwonago) from 1:00 PM until the time of the Memorial Service at 2:30 PM. Her earthly remains will be buried at a later date at Oak Ridge Cemetery in East Troy, to await the resurrection on the Last Day.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be directed to the St. John's Extraordinary Expansion Fund.
John would like to thank the staff at East Troy Manor for the loving care they provided for Karen during her stay there.
