He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Gerke and Gladys Gerke (Bender); and his granddaughter Sarah Dobbs. He is survived by: his wife Patricia G. Hinz; his children, Sherry Bengston (Tyson) of Wonewoc and Shawn Gerke (Tammy) of Whitewater; and his grandchildren, Alicia Steinfadt (Michael), Jacob Dobbs, Emily Magana (Ernesto) and Josh LaBelle. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the North Freedom Fire Department would be appreciated.
