He is survived by: his wife Carol Kurtz; his children, Jennifer Moldenhauer (Michael), Joseph Waters IV (Jill) and Christopher Waters (Jenn); his grandchildren, Aaron Moldenhauer (Megan), Hailey Anderson (Michael), Miracle Waters, Kelci Waters, Toebi Waters and Jailyn Waters; his great grandchildren, Macie Moldenhauer, Jett Moldenhauer, Annette Moldenhauer and William "Liam" Anderson; his siblings, Ellen Votaw (Jim) and Eric Waters; and his siblings-in-law, Roland Kurtz (Eileen), Kenn Kurtz (Gail), Jim Czaja and Julie Taylor (Dave).
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Joseph's memory to St. John's Lutheran Church in Newburg and the Newburg Fire Department.
