He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Marcks and Lorraine Marcks (Lorenz); his wife Joyce Zuhse; his siblings, Richard, Gerald "Bucky" Marcks and Fern Rusch; and his close friend Carol Grossman.
He is survived by: his daughters, Jodi Gruentzel (Steve) and Sue Bender (Brian); his grandchildren, Trisha Peterson (Stacy), Joe Gruentzel (Nicole), Brant Bender and Garrett Bender (Dana); his great grandchildren, Lily, Charlie Peterson, Ruby and Reed Gruentzel; his sister Ginny Peters; and his siblings-in-law, Sue Marcks, Dorla Marcks and David Rusch. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers a Memorial Fund has been established to help support the New London Clippers baseball program.
