He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Hidde and Myrtle Hidde (Learman); his wife Janice Kluge; his parents-in-law, Harold and Margaret Kluge; his grandson Travis Allen; his siblings, Victor Hidde (Ione), Glen Hidde (Sarah), Dorothy Raper (HL), Hilda Fronczak (Gordon), Harold "Ike" Hidde (Linda), Alfred Hidde (Viola) and Carl Hidde; and his brother-in-law Kenneth Jonely.

He is survived by: his children, Jeff, Julie Allen (Steve), Randy Hidde (Debra), Diane Pelky (Michael) and Jeffery Hidde (Kris); his grandchildren, Eric, Carl (April), Crystal (Josh), Ashley (Ryan), Matthew Rachel (Bernard), Susan (Scott), Andrew, Alison and Jacob; his great grandchildren, Samanda, Kiara, Kiana, Alex, Lillian, Beau, Curtis, Kendra, Mercedes, Briella, Leland, Annabelle, Mackenzie, Zoey, Lucas, Hayden and Emily; his great great grandchildren, Kaelyn and Rylan; his sister Alice Jonely; his sisters-in-law, Lavonne Hidde and Carol Kluge; and his close friends, Chuck Ebert, Irma Lucht and Lee Shaw. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

“In loving memory of Melvin Hidde, May your heart and soul find peace and comfort. Many years have passed since I learned & enjoyed the Hidde family. This came about when my cousin Vi and Al started dating. Judy and I were flowers gals in their wedding when we were in grade school. My mom, Leona Muskevitsch also had a good time talking with Mert. Continue to stay together as a family group.”
