He was predeceased by: his father Fred Birkholz; and his brother-in-law Harold Romberg. He is survived by: his mother Arlene Birkholz (Cruger); his significant other Debbie Engels; his children, Cora Oberlin (Dave), Tara Marsh (Marc), Lance Birkholz (Jessica), Alyssa Wichmann (Ryan), Jessica Erlandson (Marty), Trisha Ladwig (Eric) and Tony Engels (Madison); his grandchildren, Claira, Annabelle, Nolan, Addison, Clay, Olivia, Owen, Harvey, Scarlett, Wrigley, Easton, Braxton, Eleanor, Kyra, Amari, Chloe, Michael and Marley; and his siblings, Sandy Romberg, Corinne Dorsey (Kim), Debbie Olson (Steve), Sue (Greg) and Wood. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
