He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville Bartel and Lucille Bartel (Schwirtz). He is survived by: his wife Beverly (Procknow); his stepmother Edna Bartel; and his siblings, Dean Bartel, Virgina Murray, Patti Roberts, Keith Bartel, Kevin Bartel and Renee Hensel. He is also survived by his family and friends.

Every February he and his wife would escape the winter chill by vacationing in Yuma, AZ, until the unfortunate arrival of the Covid pandemic.
