She was predeceased by: her parents, William Schley and Emma Hoffman Schley; her husband Walter; her siblings, Doris Baggs (Arthur), Della Ewald (Harry), Audrene Arndt (Louis), Valera Neuenfeldt (Everett), Ruth Schoenike (Lawrence) and Harlan Schley (Marion); and her sons-in-law, Thomas Kriese and Thomas Arras.

She is survived by: her children, Thomas Tews (Alfie) of Ashville, NC and Beth Ann Arras; her grandchildren, Joel Tews, Brett Kriese (Tamara), Anne Young (Danny), Jill Kriese (Robert Vonck) and Jay Tews (Debra); and her great grandchildren, Kayla, Cassidy (Lucas), Kain, Hans, Eva, Emily and Grayson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested for Pilgrim Lutheran Church and School, Lutheran World Relief, and Luther Manor and Hospice.
