He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph DeBruin and Leona DeBruin (Meulemans); his parents-in-law, Alois and Geraldine VanZeeland (Gloudemans); and his siblings, Marvin (Jean), Francis "Fritz" DeBruin (Carol), Bernice Hahn (Benny), Eileen Johnson (James) and Carol Vandenberg (Doug).
He is survived by: his wife Karen DeBruin (VanZeeland) of John's Catholic Church; his children, Julie Monfils (Michael), Patti Kempinger (Mike) and Steve DeBruin (Agustina); his grandchildren, Erin Kamprath (Augustine), Matthew Kempinger (Abbie), Rachel Musser (Louie), Allison Kempinger, Sarah Monfils, Stephanie DeBruin and Sean DeBruin; his great grandchildren, John, Simeon and Anna Kamprath; his grandchildren, Ezra, Ophelia Kempinger and Michael Musser; and his sisters-in-law, Alice Ziehm (Bill), Ellen Southard (John) and Elaine VanDeHey. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
