He was predeceased by: his brother Russel Volz; and his parents, Eldor Volz-Tech and Ilene Volz-Tech. He is survived by: his daughters, Tammy Daus (Robert) and Tonia Atchison (Tom); his wife Carol Jean Doering; his stepchildren, Scott Balthazor (Tracy) and Lesley Fuerst (Greg); his grandchildren, Taylor Ward (Justin), Karsen Daus, Emilee Witt, Caitlyn Atchison, Alyssa Atchison, Brandyn Johnson, Jakob Balthazor, Cole Balthazor, Blake Fuerst and Brooklyn Fuerst; his mother-in-law Betty Doering; his sister-in-law Patsy Heling; his siblings, Allan Volz (Judy), Sherry Crain (Jim) and Emily Schirpke (Gordy); and his sister-in-law Cathy Volz.
Dennis always referred to flowers as "Funeral Flowers" J, so in lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
