He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Kummer and Martha Kummer (Hess). He is survived by: his wife Ellen Kay; and his sons, William J. "Bill" Kummer (Jan), David Kummer (Katrina), Paul Kummer, Tim Kummer (Wendy) and Dennis Burtness (Tayna). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one brother, and two sisters.
