She was predeceased by: her parents, George J. Basten and Ethel Basten (Bertrand). She is survived by: her husband Peter Mathu; her sons, Mark (Karen), Michael (Michele) and Brian (Nadine); her grandchildren, Virginia, Patricia, Peter, Lorraine, David, Garrett, Gabriele, Evan and Grant; and her siblings, Tom Basten and Loretta O'Boyle. She is also survived by many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
