He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred and Alma; his son Martin Rieck; his brother Daniel Rieck; and his sister-in-law Dorothy Rieck.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce Rieck; his son Robert Rieck (Joanne); his grandsons, Christopher Rieck and Brian Rieck; his daughter Elizabeth Miles; his niece Karen Leitzow; his nephew David Rieck; his siblings-in-law, Hope Wilson and Gary Wilson; and his nephew Garrett Wilson.
