He was predeceased by: his parents, William Sauer and Clara Sauer; his brothers, Edward Sauer, Ray Sauer (Jeanne) and Walt Sauer; and his brother-in-law Jim Duff.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Marnie"; his children, Kay Dillaman (Bill), Amy Consigny (Craig) and Mike Sauer (Sandy); his grandchildren, Erin Warrick (Dan), Elizabeth, Katie Dillaman, Kevin, Tyler Consigny, Charlie and Abby Sauer; his great grandchildren, Vivian and Liam Warrick; his brother Robert Sauer (Alice); and his siblings-in-law, Dolores Sauer, Donna Sauer, Marlyn Duff, Bill Duff (Carol), Ginny Laubenstein (Don), Charles Duff (Barbara), Alice Clausing (Howard) and Dottie Dorr (Joe). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
