He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Knipfer and Glenice Knipfer (Slayton); his former wives, Donna Shogren (Motzer) and Pamela Knipfer (Braden); and his siblings, Robert, Jerry, Judith Staves and Ramona Wojciechowski.
He is survived by: his wife Valerie Nissen; his daughter Shannon Berg (Tom); his grandchildren, Mckinze and Morgan Berg; his stepchildren, Craig Pratt and Faith Klintworth (Matt Black); his stepgrandchildren, Brandon and Brittney; and his siblings, Boyd Knipfer and Audrey "Tina" Mielke. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
