He was predeceased by: his parents, Florence Schutz and Edward Schutz; his sisters-in-law, Elaine Reinert and Carol Vogt; and also, Phyllis Van Lauren, Lorraine Zelhofer, Dorothy Fitzgibbon and Jeanette Bender.

He is survived by: his wife Mavis; his children, Robert Jr. (Joan), Steven, Scott (Sharon), Michael (Bonnie), Jodi, Matthew, Troy and Casey; his sister Beatrice Bolar; and his brother-in-law Richard Schutz (Judy). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
