James K. Goff Obituary

With heavy hearts, the Goff Family announces the passing of James "Jim" K. Goff of Neosho after a long battle with COPD/Emphysema, on December 25, 2024. He died peacefully at home with immediate family present.

The son of Lyle and Margaret Goff, Jim graduated from Custer HS in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1959. Shortly after graduation, he began his career as a machinist at The Falk Corporation in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After honing his skills for 10 years at Falk, Jim started his own job shop, Goff's Industrial Aid Machining Inc., that he owned and operated for 30 years in Hartland, Wisconsin. Jim's company earned a reputation of quality machining services throughout the Milwaukee area and the southern Wisconsin region. His expertise and passion led him to serve as the National Tooling and Machining Association President of the Milwaukee Chapter in 1988, and also served as Treasurer, Secretary, Vice President, and then President of the Tool and Die Machining Association of Milwaukee from 1991 to 1995.

In 1962, he married his beloved wife, Phoebe. Together, "Pat" and Jim raised three boys: Michael, Steven, and David. They took occasional breaks from the business and kids by traveling, most notably taking trips to Hawaii and Japan. In later years, they enjoyed many trips to the local casinos.

Jim was an avid golfer, bowler, and fisherman. He also had a great passion for hot rods. After retiring in 1999, Pat and Jim kept a heavy tour schedule of regional car shows, typically arriving in one of his award winning cars: a 1929 custom Packard or 1948 custom Chevy. They attended many Packard Club sponsored events, of which they were members.

Jim is survived by his wife of 62 years, Phoebe "Pat" (née Nelson); his sons Michael, Steven (Patricia), and David (Kimberly); his granddaughter Amanda; his grandsons Ryan and Evan; his brother Robert (Frances); his sister Janice; his sister-in-law Geri (Norman); his brother-in-law Clayton (Debbie); and many nieces and nephews.

In keeping with his wishes, Jim was cremated.

A memorial service will be announced soon. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to "This Time Tomorrow Foundation," a random acts of kindness foundation that provides direct financial support to people fighting all types of cancer.
