It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Arthur L. Hoekstra of Nelson, Wisconsin, who passed away on February 4, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Hoekstra and Kathryn Hoekstra (Cardwell); his sisters, Christine Boza and Karen Hoekstra; and his in-laws, Cyrus Swenson, Glen Neuhaus and Eileen Ellingson (Verlin).
He is survived by: his spouse Jerrilyn A. Swenson; his children, Eileen Wood and Michael Wood; his grandchild Alie Wood-Suarez; his stepchildren, Melinda Johnson (Tony), Eric Romanowicz, Melissa Platson (Jim), Cody Larson (Carly), Lucas Romanowicz, Elena Romanowicz and Tyler Johnson; his siblings, Chuck Hoekstra (Jean), Kathy Hoekstra (Wayne Kardatzke) and Kim Lux; and his siblings-in-law, Lorna Neuhaus, Margaret Swenson, Lynette Nelson (Brad) and Bob Swenson (Karen). He is also survived by 2 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Faith Lutheran Church (905 Hiawatha Dr E, Wabasha, MN 55981). The military honors was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the VFW, Post 4086 and the American Legion.
