He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Kauer and Mary Kauer (Schneider); his son David; his granddaughter Jennifer; and his brothers-in-law, Rod Smith and Gary Sotak.
He is survived by: his children, Debra Kauer of Larned, KS, Stephen Kauer (Amy) of Loyal, Terry Kauer of Stone Lake, Todd Kauer (Lynda) of Marshfield and Lisa Dragan (Michael) of Denver, CO; and his siblings, Doris Smith of Marshfield, Janet Patrick (James) of Pittsville, Nita Sotak of Glen Flora and Ivan Kauer (Sandra) of Rib Lake. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
