He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Hamann and Selma Hamann (Pilgrim); and his brothers, Charles, Robert, David and John Hamann.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Hamann; his daughters, Linda Hamann of Marshfield and Stephanie Hamann of Wausau; and his siblings, Mary Schultz (Lloyd) of Edgar, James Hamann (Janice) of Weston, Lloyd Hamann (Cathy) of Custer and Ray Hamann (Eileen) of Mosinee. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
