He is survived by: his wife Diane Thomas; his children, John, Julie Foate (Stuart), Jennifer Ellis (Ned Pfannerstill) and Jim; his grandchildren, Kaleb Merk (Hannah Heckman), Kolten Merk, Korbyn Merk, Nathan Merk (Sara Smrz), Lacey Foate (Jake Mancl) and Taylor Foate (Jared Winters); his great grandchildren, Bentley, Atina and Ariella; his son Jeff Lucey; his sisters, Sharon Lee (Thomas) and Joan Timmerman (Lance Rendle); his sister-in-law Teri Merk; and his godchildren, Linda, Lonnie, Erin and Marbeth.
