He was predeceased by: his parents, Matthew Welter and Ruth Welter (Harrol); his wife Beverly Lewis; and his niece Emma Welter. He is survived by: his daughter Jessica Welter of Nekoosa; his grandchildren, Dylan Hildebrandt and Kaely Drew Hildebrandt; his siblings, Thomas Welter, Timothy Welter (Jo) and Diane Lucignan (Dick); his niece Sue; his nephews, Paul, Gus and Max; and his sisters-in-law, Alice Koehn, Shirley Smith and Linda Pech (Leland). He is also survived by many extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his name at a later date.
