He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Russell and Esther Russell (Williamson); his former wife Sharon; his daughter Jodi Barton; and his sister Alyce Farnham (Isla Hilgers).

He is survived by: his mother-in-law Sharon Sigourney; his wife Charlotte Lovett Cook; his children, Lori Dean (Buzz), Kelli Burgeson (Barry), Edward Russell (Ruth) and Paul Russell (Peni); his son-in-law James Barton (Lori Enerson); and his stepchildren, Corisa Cook, Diane Henke (Joshua), Holly Cook and Martin Cook (Amanda). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
