He is survived by: his father Dick Nakai; his siblings, Richard Nakai and Irene Fruit (Bryan); his nieces, Jessica Nakai and Myra Nakai; and his children, Mariah, Miyako, Tasuna, Tama Thompson, Cionazi, Taahanazhi Nakai, Matthew and Mary Fruit.
